Family is a photo installation which is meant for a blacked out room. A visitor is entering the dark room which has only a small lamp hanging from the ceiling – it makes a circle on the floor. He/she takes the lamp and points on one of the photos. (They are hanging in a circle around the lamp, facing each other). He/she stands far enough to see only a detail of a family member and only one person at a time – never two at a time.
These photos tell a story of an unhappy Family which has been breaking up since the beginning.
Not seeing and not hearing, not asking and not talking…
Photos have been exhibited in Vilnius Art Academy’s basement, 2006.
